"OV" Participants - Please find below a list of camp guidelines from our staff and team. Our purpose is to provide you the best possible hockey experience in a fun and challenging learning environment. Please come prepared to work hard, listen, compete, learn, and have fun. Please do not hesitate to ask our staff questions.
"OV" Hockey welcomes all parents, family, and friends to attend all on and off ice sessions and events!
- Be on Time - Make sure you have all your equipment when you pack your bag at home and get to the rink early enough to get dressed. Don't be late on the ice!
- Locker Rooms - The arena will post daily locker room assignments. Respect the facility! All players must dress in the locker room assigned to your team color. Keep your equipment together and respect the gear and space of those around you. Please let an "OV" coach or mom and dad know if you need any help. Our staff will be in the locker rooms and are more than happy to assist you.
- Team Work - Be positive and help others. For the week, you are part of "OV" Hockey. You are a High Speed, High Intensity, High Energy athlete…you are an "OV" Hockey player. Respect yourself and your teammates!
- Listen - Pay attention to the instructors at all times. Listening is an important life skill that leads to improvement.
- Hard Work - Listen and execute to the very best of your abilities. 'The effort put forth to refine your game will define your game'.
- Learning - Take something valuable from every session we have together.
- Application - Apply the concepts learned at the next session.
- Dryland Training - Please bring light, breathable, athletic clothing to your dryland training sessions (running shoes and/or cross training shoes are mandatory). We will have water, but if you would like to bring your own water bottle, please do.
- Lecture - Qualified guest speakers and professionals who are experts in their field will share their knowledge and experience with you. Please respect each of our guests during their presentations.
- Questions - If you don't understand a drill, or not sure what to do, ask your instructor. They are your coaches for the week and here to help you.
- Water Bottles - "OV" Hockey will provide water for all on and off-ice sessions. If you would like to bring your own, please do.
- Sportsmanship - Compete hard and fair. Always follow the rules and show respect for the other players, both on and off the ice. Smile, work hard, and enjoy the week!
- The Captain - Each day, our staff members will select a hockey player from each group to wear the coveted "OV" 'C'. This selection is based on the passion, work ethic, intensity, energy, and character the participant shows the previous day of camp. This will be signified by the captain 'C' on the jersey.
- Creativity - Try new things, meet new teammates, work outside of your comfort zone and be creative. Use this time to develop all of your hockey skills.
- Compete - Put your best effort forward…every day!
- Passion - Be passionate and serious about improving as hockey players. Passion is a powerful source!
- Thank Mom and Dad - Always remember to thank mom and dad for the countless sacrifices and effort that they make for you to play hockey.
- Have FUN! - FUN is the most important component of everything we do. Enjoy yourself during the week and have fun learning new skills, meeting new people, and enjoying the greatest game on earth!
